3 reasons why kids fall sick

Cold things are not only things essentially cold to touch. They are also things which cool the body after undergoing digestion and assimilation.

As per Ayurveda, at different stages of life, one among the 3 Doshas is predominant. From birth to puberty it is the Kapha time. Kapha is the heaviest and coldest dosha and it is made of earth and water. That is why one can observe that all kids are prone to cold, cough, phlegm, running nose…….
Anything that increases Kapha will directly influence the health of the child. After puberty it is Pitta or the fiery period. Getting exposed to cold is not as bad. 

SO KIDS SHOULD ALWAYS BE KEPT WARM.
Reason 1
In this present world, kids are addicted to aerated cool drinks, ice creams, cold water, A/C.

Reason 2
Kids cannot be without cakes, extra cheese, chocolates, pizza, burger, french fries and other junk food. They rarely eat a fruit.

Reason 3 (The most important)
Parents attitude… “My parents couldn't afford so I was deprived. Now that I can, why don’t I provide my kids with everything"

  • Kids lead a very sedentary life. 
  • Always in front of the TV or computer. 
  • Excess junk food.
  • Always in A/C.
  • Very rarely into a sport or physical activity.

Bottomline
Now I understand why people say - CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE….
My future will be 100% secure as long as parents want to provide their kids with things they couldn’t get when they were young. So settling down as a pediatric doctor is not a bad option.

Hazards of Overhydration

Over-hydration is possible with consumption of water in excess.

Off late many people have asked me about drinking water and the merits of keeping oneself hydrated. I advise them to keep themselves hydrated but not to the extent that they get over-hydrated.
Being over-hydrated is a condition where the body contains more fluid than necessary and that happens when one consumes fluids in excess. Body has to continuously excrete this fluid. 


I’ve seen on the streets of America where people are always carry a bottle of water. When I conduct classes, I ask them about this for which they say that they feel cleaner when they drink more water. They say they drink water because the body contains 75% of water, the brain close to 90%.The common belief is that water flushes the toxins and cleanses the system. 


Fact
What people don’t realize is that more water leads to more flushing, but not only toxins also essential micro nutrients. Water just washes away everything. 
The body is 75% water, so why get tensed about something which is in abundance. Its not easy to get dangerously dehydrated.
Drinking too much of water can alter the sodium potassium balance. It could lead to sodium deficiency. Can also end up in organ damage or seizures (fits).

As experts say that one has to wait till the phone asks you to charge it rather than charging it whenever one feels like. Frequent and overcharging your phone will reduce its battery life. 
Likewise attend to your body when it asks for... could be hunger, thirst or excretion... Don't force it.
